Broadcast Podcast!

March 19th, 2020

We are excited to announce The Broadcast Podcast featuring live music performances, interviews, and more, with funds raised being shared among the artists and tech staff!

Broadcast, and its older sister The Captain’s Rest, have been a part of Glasgow’s music scene for over ten years. As with many fantastic live music venues, we have been placed directly under threat by the Covid-19 outbreak.

We’ve started a Patreon page to support the show, which we are creating to provide paid work for sound engineers and local bands as the situation unfolds. Expect to hear live performances, interviews, and some terrible jokes as we all try and make our way through this.

We already have some great local bands lined up, but anyone else wanting to take part should send an email to

We look forward to hearing from you, and to you hearing from us. Stay safe out there.

Rendez-Vous + VLURE & Bluebirds

March 7th, 2019

Control Social Club & PCL Presents
+ VLURE + Bluebirds
Thursday, 7 March 2019
18+ ONLY

Having spent the last four years roaming the stages of France and Europe, RENDEZ VOUS finally deliver their debut album: SUPERIOR STATE. If taking your time seems like a bit of a luxury in these imperious times, the four boys decided to allow it themselves anyway.

The resulting album shakes and stirs. It was produced by the members of the group themselves and mixed in an old refurbished church in Leeds by Matt Peel (Eagulls, BadBreeding), seasoned practitioner of rugged and ill-discipline English rock. The mastering washandled by Sarah Register (Depeche Mode, Lou Reed, Protomartyr) in New York.

To breathe easier, with less of those 1980s ticks, Rendez-Vous have cut back on the synths and drum machines and recorded with a real drum kit, basing their production on hybrid rhythms. What’s more, the band have now been augmented by a real drummer in the shape of Guillaume Rottier (Quetzal Snakes, Holy Gray)
The aim isn’t just to cause trouble, but to mark time, find a rhythm that’s just right for them and preserve a vital independence. To that end, the group have launched their own label – Artefact (ATF) – through which they are releasing this their debut.

Rendez Vous are Franics Mallari (vocals, bass), Elliot Berthault and Maxime Gendre (synths, machines, backing vocals), Simon Dubourg (guitar). They’ve recently been joined by Guillaume Rottier on drums.
